This 5-session module offers an additional module to the Advent module found in The Way of the Child Leader’s Guide. It seeks to help children begin to understand the complex proclamation of who Jesus is as explained in the Gospel of John and in Jesus’ own words. The messages of the Advent wreath serve as reminders of the gifts of Jesus — hope, peace, joy, and love — and guide our time of reflection with children during this module.
This document contains reproducible journal pages and patterns for use in reflection stations. Sessions include: Hope and Light, Peace and Light, Joy and Light, Love and Light, and Jesus Is Our Light.
NOTE: This module is designed to supplement the 8 modules found in The Way of the Child Leader’s Guide by Wynn McGregor. The original Leader’s Guide contains information you need to understand The Way of the Child program and how to lead sessions. If you do not have The Way of the Child Leader’s Guide, we strongly recommend that you purchase it and become familiar with it before using this module.
