Donald E. Messer, executive director of The Center for the Church and Global AIDS, is President Emeritus and Professor Emeritus at The Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Author of fifteen books, he is widely known for his work to combat world hunger and HIV/AIDS. Messer has been honored by Boston University, Dakota Wesleyan University, Sisters of Color United for Education, and the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in India with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his humanitarian work. He also serves as Chair of The United Methodist Global AIDS Fund Committee.
